
Sometimes, I hit a wall and have to take a
nap to carry on. My clients are too tired to do
their homework due to brain fog. My friend is
suffering from such chronic fatigue she can
hardly walk a block.
What about you? Do you need and want more
energy?
Contrary to what most psychologists believe,
the laws of physics must be taken into
account if you want to be mentally,
emotionally and physically healthy. APA and
traditional psychologists made a mistake to
abandon the body psychotherapy movement.
The laws of nature apply to you because you
have a physical body. Let that reality soak
into your bones and cells and never forget it.
Body awareness is essential for good mental
health, emotional health and physical health.
Body awareness is a perquisite for holistic
health and self-confidence.
If you are lacking in body awareness, you are
trapped in your negative thoughts, ego states
and defensive reactions. Vibrant moments are
not possible in any of these states because
you are being controlled by your past learning
history and conditioning.
If you use the laws of physics instead of
psychological theories, you dramatically
improve your results. A simple thing like just
a little bit of body awareness can immediately
increase your energy. As soon as you increase
your energy, you decrease your depression
and anxiety. Yes, there is a direct relationship
between body awareness and anxiety and
depression. The more body awareness you
have, the less anxiety and depression you
have. This could be a psychological human
energy law.
For example, the psychological research on
depression repeatedly finds that physical
movement is the only thing that consistently
works. Physical movement is more effective
than medication or meditation. Depression
occurs when we depress our natural healthy
flowing energy. To stop depressing your
energy use body awareness activities. Body
awareness, which is ncreasing the
consciousness in your body is effective.
I coined the “ACE,” Active Conscious Effort,
years ago when I first discovered the
relationship between the flip flop behaviors of
anxiety and depression. Do you flip flop back
and forth between being depressed and being
anxious? When you flip flop between
depression and anxiety, you could be labeled
by traditional psychologists as bipolar or in
the old days, manic depressive, which is an
accurate description of your energy.
Holistic psychology does not use labels, we
use evidence-based learning research which
says that depression is an avoidance
response. This means you depress your
energy to avoid being anxious. It is your
anxiety that is the source problem.
Put notes on your mirror that remind you that
body awareness is essential for good mental
health, emotional health and physical health.
When you are depressed, you lack body
awareness, you are numb and devoid of
emotions and feelings.
It is exciting that body awareness can get you
out of depression. Yes, as soon as you use a
safe “Active Conscious Effort” you can shift
out of depression. Your ACE needs to be a
comfortable, easy to do action because in
learning research terms, small baby steps
successfully desensitize your anxieties and big
ones don’t. If you move, the result is your
energy increases and you feel better. You feel
better emotionally because your energy is
flowing and you are in physical reality instead
of stuck in your negative thoughts which are
making you anxious in the first place.
Use the ACE to get out of depression and use
systematic desensitization to reduce your
anxiety naturally. Body awareness exercises
help you feel the tension that is in your body.
When you notice you are anxious, if you care
about yourself, you immediately do something
to reduce your anxiety naturally. For example,
body awareness meditations help you relax
and breathe more fully. When you relax your
body and take deep breaths, you become
more grounded. If you continue to use body
awareness exercises during the day, you can
become a conscious breather which gives you
a great deal of power over your anxiety.
Imagine how full body awareness would feel.
You sink into gravity and completely relax
deep into the earth and feel at home. You
sense the human energy in your body
interacting with the physical world around
you. You feel part of the whole, not separate
and alone. You are having a vibrant moment
of being alive in your body. This body feeling
is genuine self-confidence. Self-confidence is
not a mental concept; it is a physical reality.
You cannot achieve self-esteem if you lack
body awareness.
With body awareness you are safer because
you can respond appropriately to any real
dangers that exist. If you stop to think, the
real danger could overpower and hurt you.
The more you relax and surrender into
gravity, the more self-confident and safer you
will be.
Let’s go back to the three examples of not
having enough energy.

This is a fact of life and the second law of
thermodynamics. When you run out of fuel,
you must rest and receive energy in order to
move forward again. Filling your cup up with
energy is all you need to do.
If relaxing and receiving energy does not
increase your energy, then your lack of
energy is due to something else.

The other reasons we lose energy are we
waste it or give it away to something or
someone else.
So, ask yourself:
Did you give your energy away without
knowing it? Take time and ponder what is
truly happening to your energy. Where did it
go?
Another law is energy constantly changes its
form and cannot be created or destroyed.
This means energy moves around and
changes its form, it is not lost forever. Water
becomes steam, steam becomes water.
Therefore, if you have lost energy, it is
somewhere and you can find it and rekindle
- I’m serious, you can discover what drains
